Tetrastichus sp. (Tiny parasitic wasps)

Taxonomy

The genus Tetrastichus are tiny parasitic wasps in the family Eulophidae. We did not identify our specimens to species.

Description

Tetrastichus are tiny black wasps that look like the more common Melittobia, often emerging in groups from a parasitized nest. They can be distinguished from Melittobia by several microscopic characteristics.

Nest Structure

Tetrastichus parasitized wasps in the family Pompillidae (spider wasps) in Bee Atlas blocks.
