Description: Up to 1 - 1 1/2 inches long.

Where/When: Prefer damp, cool areas in gardens and are often found under leaves, stones, flower pots and other protected places spring through fall.

Significance: They feed on decaying plant material and occasionally feed on soft plant material such as ripened fruit. Harmless to people.
