Tubercularia canker
Tubercularia ulmea

  • Leaves turn yellow, then brown, wilt and hang on the branch
  • Cankers are oval to elongate and have dry cracked reddish brown to black bark
  • Small pimple like spore producing structures arise from infected bark; may be tan orange or black
  • Occurs on winged euonymus (Euonymus alta)
  • Common on shrubs that are wounded or stressed
