Sap Beetle
Glischrochilus spp., Carpophilus spp.

  • Adults feed on ripe and overripe fruit, causing small (< ¼ inch) cavities in the drupelets
  • Beetles are approximately ¼ inch long, mostly black insects that are flattened and broadly oval with four yellowish-orange spots on their backs
  • Beetles appear at harvest and are attracted to overripe fruit

Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle

  • Adults are most likely feeding on the juice from insect damaged or diseased raspberries
  • Adults are present at/near harvest of fall bearing raspberries (September)
  • Adults are approximately ⅓ inch long and round. The coloration of MALB adults ranges from orange to red with zero to 19 black spots
