Gelis meabilis is in the family Ichneumonidae. Ichneumonidae are parasitic wasps that use their long ovipositors to deposit eggs into an insect host. The one nest in a Bee Atlas block that was parasitized by Gelis meabilis was in Dakota County in 2017.

We only had one nest that was parasitized by Gelis meabilis in the Bee Atlas project. Nine G. meabilis and no host insects emerged, indicating that every cell in the nest was likely parasitized.
