Description: 1/2 inch long.
Black head with moderate length antennae. Prothorax and wing covers are yellowish to tannish brown with a rectangular black spot on the thorax and a black oval spot on each wing cover.

Where/When: Found on flowers and foliage of many plants, especially ones with yellow flowers such as goldenrod, helianthus, coneflower, tansy, zinnia, and marigold. Adults are active from late July to September.

Significance: Harmless to plants. Beneficial as pollinators.
