Description: 3/4 inch long. Dark colored head and thorax, orange antennae; males have a reddish abdomen while females have a black and cream striped abdomen; both have a creamy white spot on the abdomen (near the thorax); and smoky colored wings.

Where/When: May-June; Associated with a variety of trees including willow, poplar, maple and elm; may also be found visiting flowers.

Significance: Does not harm people or property.
