Description: 1/2 inch long. First pair of legs modified for grasping, like those of a preying mantis. Its body resembles a paper wasp; it is reddish brown and yellow with wings that are either partly brown or clear.

Where/When: Common on foliage in wooded areas during summer. Can occasionally be found on or in buildings.

Significance: Does not harm people or property.
