Description: 3/8 - 1/2 inch long. Alligator shaped, with long, forcep-like mouthparts. Range in color from grey to brown.

Where/When: Can be found on garden plants when aphids are present. Active in summer.

Significance: An important predator of aphids. They are harmless to people and plants.
