Description: 1/3 - 1/2 inch long. Alligator shaped body that is black with orange on the abdomen, and rows of small spines on their bodies.

Where/When: Can be found in gardens and landscapes, especially where aphids are present. Active in late spring and summer.

Significance: An important predator of aphids. They are harmless to people and plants.
