Stone centipedes

Description: Up to 1 3/4 inches long. Reddish-brown with 15 pairs of short legs.
Where/When: Found in a variety of habitats including under logs, loose bark, stones, leaf litter, and mulch, mainly in moist areas. They are present from spring to fall.
Significance: Beneficial as a predator of anthropods. Harmless to people.
