Hackberry psyllids

Description: 3/16 inch long. Aphid-like or gnat-like with mottled brownish wings with small black and white spots; wings are held roof-like over its body and extends past its abdomen.

Where/When: They are found in and around homes, especially around windows, during fall, spring and occasionally during winter.

Significance: Hackberry psyllids are primarily a nuisance when found indoors. They generally do not harm people, although they can bite as they probe surfaces for food. They do not reproduce indoors.
