Description: 3/8 to 5/8 inch long. Compact, stout, hairy black spider. Two eyes in particular (of the eight) are very large. It has a white, yellow, or orange spot on the middle of the abdomen with two smaller white spots further down. The chelicerae (mouthparts) are iridescent green. They have a jerky gait, move fast and can jump.

Where/When: It is found in and around buildings, especially by windows and other sunny sites. Most common during spring and summer.
