Description: 3 inches long. Pinkish to greenish white caterpillar with brown head and black mandibles.

Where/When: Tunnels under bark and into heartwood of hardwood trees. Preferred hosts are ash, boxelder, black locust, elm, oak and willow. Present July through May.
