Description: 1 inch long. Variable head and body colors- black heads with light green to yellow bodies with shaggy blonde hairs to red heads with darker bodies and shaggy reddish-brown hairs. Pairs of dark spots on each back segment.

Where/When: Attacks many hardwood trees, including ash, black walnut, chokecherry, cottonwood, elm, mountain-ash, and willow. Present July through September.
