Description: 2 inches long. Black head with orange yellow rectangle behind it. They have a striped body covered with fine white hairs. They are either black with orange-yellow stripes or orange-yellow with red-orange stripes.

Where/When: Many hardwood trees and shrubs including ash, basswood, birch, crabapple, elm, honeylocust, maple, mountain-ash, oak, and sumac. Present July through September.
