Description: 1 - 1 1/4 inches (not including the ovipositor). Reddish brown head, stout brown to black body with yellow stripes, and amber colored wings.

Where/When: Several hardwood trees including the preferred maple and beech but also found on apple, elm, hackberry, hickory, pear, and oak.
