Damping Off
Pythium spp., Rhizoctonia sp., and Fusarium spp.

  • Seed may rot in soil
  • Seedling leaves and stem appear discolored, water soaked
  • Seedling stem may be thin and wire like
  • Plants will wilt suddenly or fall over; older plants may be stunted
  • Cobweb-like or cotton-like fungal growth on seedlings or potting mix
  • Disease favors cool, wet soil with poor drainage
