- Beetles are approximately ¼ inch long, mostly black insects that are flattened and broadly oval with four yellowish-orange spots on their backs
- Beetles appear at harvest and are attracted to overripe fruit

- Adults are most likely feeding on the juice from insect damaged or diseased raspberries
- Adults are present at/near harvest of fall bearing raspberries (September)
- Adults are approximately ⅓ inch long and round. The coloration of MALB adults ranges from orange to red with zero to 19 black spots
