White Mold
Sclerotinia sclerotiorum

  • Stems, leaves and pods develop a soft watery rot
  • White fluffy fungal growth appears on infected plant parts
  • If the stem is girdled it turns dry and tan, the plants wilts
  • Inside dead stems are hard black sclerotia
  • Symptoms appear when plants flower
  • Common in densely planted, or low lying fields
