Tansy
Tanacetum vulgare L.
Found in:
- Prairie plantings and lakeshore areas
- Most common in the northern part of Minnesota
Characteristics:
- Perennial that grows 3-4’ tall
- Fern-like leaves arise alternately along stem
- Clusters of bright yellow, button-like flowers bloom July through Sept.
- Dense, fibrous root system consists of underground stems (rhizomes)
- New plants grow from root pieces
