Mouse-ear Chickweed

Found in:

• Lawns and landscape beds
• Grows in cool moist soils in sun and shade

Characteristics:

• Low growing perennial; often forms a dense mat in lawns
• Can grow to 1’ in height in landscape beds
• Remains green year round
• Stems and leaves are covered with tiny hairs
• Leaves are oval with smooth edges, arise in pairs (opposite one another) along stem
• Small, white flowers at the end of the stems have 5 deeply lobed petals appearing like 10 separate flower petals
• Spreads by rooting at the stem nodes (joints) and by seed
