Found in:
- Lawns and landscape beds
- Thrives on nutrient rich, moist soil
Characteristics:
- Low growing perennial (or sometimes annual), 6-8” tall
- Thin, green stems grow upright or slightly trailing
- Stems may root where the nodes (joints) touch the ground
- Clover-like trifoliate (3 leaflets), heart-shaped leaves are joined at the point on each leaf
- Yellow flowers with five petals that bloom May to Sept.
- Fibrous roots along with rhizomes (underground stems)
Significance:
- Difficult to control
